    why do people not realize lecithin is a major source of soy, so this food is NOT soy free also vitamin E/tocopherol are most times unless the food company requests other wise soy based

    I have a 2 year old Mini Schnauzer who is a nightmare to feed. I’ve done much research into dog food and dog food labelling and weeded out all the rubbish. I tried him on so many ‘natural’ grain free foods which initially went down well, but after 1 week he’d gone off them. I have had him primarily on a home RAW diet but even then he goes through stages of not wanting to eat. So about 3 months ago I discovered ZIWIPEAK Treats in a local pet shop which went down amazingly well, so when I read about the ‘Balance Diet’ I had to get a trial bag. Since the first time I gave my dog the Balanced Diet, he has never skipped a meal. He has Venison Ziwipeak for breakfast and a bowl of raw with a small bit of Ziwi mixed in, and is so excited at meal time, no more coaxing him to eat and I’m delighted to say that his Schnauzer bumps (skin condition) have all cleared up. His teeth are beautifully white, he has no bad breath at all, his coat is shiny and I often have people remark on the fact that he looks fantastic. Yes it does seem a bit expensive to buy and I’m not flush with money, but it’s affordable for my Schnauzer and beside’s, my dog’s health is as important as mine, not just now but I want him to age as healthy and happy as possible. So what I spend on food throughout his life can determine how much I end up to spending or saving on vet’s bill further down the line. So worth it1

    We bought one of the Ziwi hooves for our pet in hopes of finding a nice chew for her only to have her nearly die from eating it. We will never purchase another ZiWiPeak product again.

      Just am now trying ZiwiPeak on my 12 year old Parson’s Russell who has developed severe food allergies in the last year, two days on this and so far so good. I want to make a comment on your hoof issue. I purchased a hoof from a general pet store and almost lost one of my dogs, I think it’s the hoof and not the brand. You were not specific but I understand your paranoia.

      Chel, I know it’s been over a year since you commented, but I wish you would say what about the hoove almost kill your pup? Did your pup almost choke, or was it a reaction?

    My dog has a sensitive stomach and allergies to chickem and beef. We have used many foods in the past, including Acana and Fromm. My dog was showing signs of disinterest in her food a few weeks ago, so I purchased several different trial sized bags of food to see which she would eat. When we opened the ZiwiPeak, my dog was hooked! We tried to switch her over slowly, but she ate the ZiwiPeak and left her other kibble in the bowl. With an immediate and complete switch to ZiwiPeak Venison, we’ve had one happy dog who can’t wait for dinnertime and no diarhea or other allergy symptoms. Becuase of the Green Lipped Muscle content, I can also stop feeding a glucosamine supplement for joint issues – so although this food does appear more expensive than other brands, it is infact cheaper.

    Lexee is my 2 1/2 yr yorkie/chihuahua – i really would like to try her on ziwipeak dehydrated but im too concerned about her gaining more
    weight. She is starting to lose – she only needs to lose a lb.
    currently she is on hill’s r/d canned – the fat content in ziwipeak is 27% – is that too high for a dog that needs to lose weight?

    Please try ziwi peak for a few months at least. I think it would help your shepherd, you do feed less ziwi peak than normal dry kibble. Please look into it further and give it a try its great!!!

    Please help me, my dog has several allergies, fungus-yeast problems, etc. I wish to put him on a diet that does not create yeast which means no potatoes, sweet potatoes or pease, carrots, pasta, etc. ZiwiPeak is priced above average in price however I am spending 4-500 s month in meds plus vet bills so…… Could you tell me the portion I would give my dog, He is a German Shepherd who normally weighs 130 but is at 102 now. He has never been a big eater but always very buff, Anyway my question considering the bag is only 11 pounds please tell me how much I will feed him a day. Oh and he also eats wet food which I will add the ZiwiPeak wet food to his dry. I have decided on Venison Cuisine or Venison and Fish, one or the other. Any information you can supply would be so appreciated.

      Hi Pamela, I have a German Shepherd as well. As your dog, Mine is very lean and is not a big eater. I just switched over to ZiwiPeak venison a little over a month. My dog is about 90 lbs and has a total of 6 Ziwi cups a day, which I divide into 2 feedings. I also add Ziwi wet with the air dried food. He eats twice a day, 3 Ziwi cups in the morning with 1/4 cup Ziwi wet and repeat it in the evening. I follow the feeding guidelines on the back side of the package. I also add a little water in the mix too. sometimes I will throw in fruit and veggies. On days that he’s more active, I will give him a little extra food. I hope this helps you!!

        I have a 3 yr old female pug and have been feeding her ziwipeak for a year now. I give her 1/2 cup of venison dried food mixed with about about 1.5tbsp of ziwipeak venison & fish wet canned food in the morning & just 1 cup of dried food in the evening. Occasionally I give her a bone with marrow, she loves apple’s & bananas as occasional treats, and I may give her sardines once in a while. Her main food is ziwipeak. I always ensure she has fresh water available & she has 2 ceramic bowls I keep fresh water in for her to access. She’s always seems very thirsty after eating ziwipeak. She was diagnosed with a 3cm struvite bladder stone yesterday. I’ve being trying to research on it wondering if ziwipeak has caused this. Has anyone else had this problem?. I’ve read it maybe best to add water to the dried food, but I’m really concerned whether or not its the ziwipeak that’s caused this?.

          I was contemplating ZIWIPEAK for my pitbull with UTI issues but concerned about your pug’s diagnosis with struvite bladder stone. Did you continue with ZIWIPEAK? or have you since discontinued ? did you find out if there was a connection? hope all is well :)

            I have a little Shih Tzu, Bailey who has terrible allergies. Ears are always crusty, belly and groin area red and he is chewing and scratching a lot. He has been on and off steroids and antibiotics. I am considering Ziwi Peak, but also wonder about this drinking water deal. IF anyone has any information please let us know. Thank you

      One of the best thing you can do is start by getting digestive enzymes for dogs look in amazon . My second recommendation if you want to start introducing your dog to raw food will be the best you can do. Cook chicken and vegetables together and then grind. Please make sure tu use broccoli carrots apples pumpkin papaya in a slow cooker for 1hour . Then put everything in the food processor ( when not hot) then if you want to cook for several days put
      1cup in individual zip locks and freeze .very important food must not be hot when saved on the freezer ( due to fermentation) it must be at room temperature. To serve take the frozen bag and leave it on the refrigerator overnight next morning re heat and serve . Top it with Ziwipeak your choice I prefer lamb to start gain weight. Mix it and you will spend less and have a healthy dog
