Who is Dogswell Manufactured By?

The company who makes Dogswell dog food is called Dogswell, a company that was first founded by Marco Giannini. Marco had a pet German Shepherd that developed hip dysplasia, and he wanted to create a dog food formula to help his dog’s condition.     I have a shih Zhu (female) and when I brought her into the vet as a baby he said they need to be on gluten free diet and of course dry food and bottled water .I love my vet and I trusted him whole heartedly !! I went on my search for a brand I could by in the grocery store too… Then I found Dogswell .My doggie loves it. and they have allergies even though they are hypoallergenic dogs..
    I wouldn’t trade this food at all .good price and good for your dog .I have never given her any Dogswell treats so I can’t comment on treats..

    The DRY KIBBLE is very good. My GSD puppy loves it and has no GI problems. My dog got diarrhea from EVOLVE – probably due to the powdered egg it contained. I’ll stick with Dogswell kibble. No problems – vet says her health & last blood blood tests are just fine. My dog is super picky & has allergies as well as hotspots. Each time I try another dog food, her tummy gets upset. Avoid treats & especially greenies and chewies – a good dry kibble & supplement work well with her cooked wet diet. Vet says that Dogswell is pretty good.

    The recall was for the treats – just want to point out that the China melamine issue is separate from kibble ratings. B

    My dog has been eating happy hips canned food grain free made in USA only for a year now. He is doing great he doesent get ear or skin problems anymore. I have never given him the treats from China and I wont But I highly recommend their grain free can food from USA if your dog has allergies.

    Dog is in hospital now with acute pancreatitis from happy hips CANNED dog food. BEWARE ANYTHING FROM THIS MANUFACTURER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I bought our Greyhound a bag of Dogswell Breathies chicken breast jerky for Christmas last year. After giving her a few treats, she started having diarrhea really bad. We could not control it and after many tests, ultrasounds, change of diet and lots of meds, we had to put her down in June. Last month I gave our Cattle dog some of the same treats from the same bag (not knowing about the recall), the next day she developed bad diarrhea. Took her in for tests, xrays and stool/blood samples and found nothing. I then remembered the treats. I talked to Petco and they told me of the recall. I will NEVER buy anything from Dogswell again. And I will never buy any food product from China. ALWAYS CHECK THE LABEL.

    A few years ago, I fed my dog Dogswell Vitality chicken treats one a day for 2 weeks. On her wellness visit at the vet, the vet found her kidney values were elevated and was concerned. Nothing else had changed in her diet. I felt duped as I read the package and realized I had been buying treats made in China. I would never have knowingly fed my dog anything made in China. From research, I also read the FDA warnings about chicken treats made in China. My vet did a urinalysis, where I noted there were white particles in my dog’s urine, but there was no additional indication of infection. I told the vet that I suspected the treats, so we stopped feeding them and had her blood values tested 2 weeks later. Her kidney values went back to normal. I felt that we dodged a bullet and was able to catch a problem before my dog got really ill.

    I had the treats analyzed by a 3rd party lab, and nothing well-known was found in them except ETHOXYQUIN. Apparently, the company won’t add this during the processing of treats, but they might not be able to control what the chicken might be preserved with before it came to the factory….

    I would not trust treats made in China. You really do not know what you are buying…

    Will NOT buy Dogswell treats anymore, please do not feed your precious furry babies treats MADE IN CHINA, at the bottom of the treats package it says in very small prints: MADE IN CHINA. this manufactures put some sort of toxic in those treats that are killing dogs in the USA and CANADA, please do not buy their products since they are MADE IN CHINA.

    My dog ate 2 dogswell chicken Vitality strips… became extremely ill – on 5 i.v.s – pancreas problems; diarrhea; vomiting; blood in stool, etc. She had been perfectly healthy until she ate the 2 strips. Do your homework before your feed your dogs anything!! At the very bottom of the package – in very tiny print… “Made in China”.

    The food however smells great for dog food and the apple/chicken treats my dogs loved! However, they are made in CHINA. Food in US but ingredients aren’t all from US. My 10 year old hound had never been sick till I fed him a bag of treats from dogswell. Couldn’t figure why he was vomiting for 3 days because I thought I was feeding the best. When I looked at bag and realized they dont make treats in US like their food I stopped treats. FDA web site said DO NOT FEED your dogs any product that contains chicken from CHINA. Hundreds of dogs sick but hadnt recalled just said dont feed. Called company wouldnt refund money for 5 bags at 15.00 a bag. Tossed all treats in trash and 1500.00 vet bill later my boy is alive and well now. Never again will I feed Dogswell!

    Dogswell’s Happy Hips meets the requirements I want in a healthy meal for my pooch, Grain Free, No Soy, No Corn, No Gluten, No Wheat, No Ethoxyquin and No Artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Five of the first six ingredients listed on the ingredient list is meats and that meat’s liver. Plus, my dog loves the taste and the cost of it doesn’t break the bank. Cost at the local supermarket is a dollar less per can then all the other recommended can dog foods.
    I will continue to use and recommend Dogswell’s Happy Hips till I convinced otherwise.
