Located in located in South West Portland, Bubbles N’ Bows dog grooming is an award winning Dog Salon. The salon is located in the owner, Karen Goodale’s home, and boasts a unique one-on-one dog grooming experience.
Her home location allows for a quiet and relaxed atmosphere for the dogs. It is perfect for puppy’s first grooming experience or for dogs that are high strung and need a more relaxed environment. Older dogs greatly benefit from Bubbles N’ Bows individual attention and comfortable atmosphere. No more than four dogs are scheduled daily.
Appointments can be booked from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm, by phone or online. Senior citizens within a 5 mile radius can participate in the pickup and drop off program that Bubbles N’ Bows has created. This program is offered for pets less than fifty pounds only.
Formerly a corporate drone, Karen’s love for dogs overcame and she went to school to become a professional dog groomer. Graduating in 2007, she is certified in Pet First Aid & CPR through the PetTech ® PetSaver™ program. Karen is also an active member of the National Dog Grooming Association of America, continuing her education as often as possible.
After her Jack Russell Terrier, Jack went blind in 2004, Karen founded Blinddogs.net, an organization that supports other owners of blind dogs and offers blind dogs up for adoption. Karen also does volunteer grooming for the Washington County Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter and Oregon Dog Rescue.
Bubbles N’ Bows Dog Salon is now offering an award winning all natural dental care program called Petzlife. PetzLife Oral Care is a safe alternative to expensive and dangerous scaling procedures involving anesthesia. The product is available in spray or gel.
The main ingredients include, grapefruit seed extract, grape seed extract, thyme oil, neem oil, rosemary oil and peppermint oil. PetzLife Oral Care products also kill bacteria on contact, leaving your pet with fresh breathe. At Bubbles N’ Bows, an initial treatment is completed during your dog’s grooming. A bottle will then be sent home with you for continued treatments from home.
Bubbles N’ Bows has several packages to choose form. All prices are based on breed (size/weight, short/ long coat, and single/double coat) coat condition and temperament.
Dogs that are well kept on a regular basis will be less expensive. Excessive matting, which is extremely painful for the animal, to be brushed out will be evaluated on a case by case basis upon arrival. A shorter cut may make the groom easier on the dog and easier on the owner for continued home grooming.
The Bubbles N’ Tidy Package includes a Southbark Blueberry Facial; a Double Massaging Bath (with a shampoo especially for your dog’s skin/coat type.); a Conditioner; and a Hand Fluff.
This package also includes a complete brush-out, anal gland check, ear cleaning, nail clipping, a sanitary trim and pad/paw trim. An optional finishing touch would include a spritz of cologne and owner’s choice of a bow or bandana.
The Bubbles N’ Full package includes a bath & tidy above and a cut/style of your choice.
A La carte involves Nail trimming only.
Bubbles N’ Bows does not offer flea control of any kind. All animals need to be flea free before coming to the salon.
Karen does not groom aggressive dogs at the salon. She works alone and for both her safety and the safety of the animal all overly aggressive or aggressively frightened animals may need veterinary care for grooming.
